(Windswept Pacific Music/EMI Music Publishing) Roy Freeland is a successful and prolific songwriter, formerly based in LA and now living in Nashville. His catalogue includes the BMI million-airplay hit "This Night Won't Last Forever" (Michael Johnson) and cuts for Barry Manilow, Gino Vannelli, Miami Sound Machine and many others. LA-based Joe Curiale is also a highly successful film score and soundtrack writer.

Co-written and performed by New York-based singer/songwriter Rick Kelly (who is looking for an artist deal), together with Nashville-based Anthony Little who has just secured a cut on the new N'Sync album.

3. WHEN NO ONE KNOWS - Pop

(Write Songs-Will Travel (SOCAN)/MCA Music Publishing (PRS). Randy teamed up with former Mud member Rob Davis to co-write this number during his recent UK visit. Randy also co-writes extensively in Nashville, Los Angeles and his native Vancouver, and has established many co-write contacts through SongLink in the past few months.

Memphis native Trey Bruce scored his first No. 1 country hit with Randy Travis' "Look Heart No Hands." Since 1993 he has had cuts with Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire, Lee Roy Pamell, Deana Carter, Diamond Rio and recently produced the new Chris LeDoux album for Capitol. Last year Billboard listed him as one of the top ten country writers in the USA.

Mersey-based Ken Maclean has had hits over the years with the Detroit Emeralds and Soloman King among others, and is currently concentrating on developing new Liverpool artist Vicky Abban, aged 20, who is working on the NW club scene. Swindon-based singer/songwriter Dave James has made a promo CD of 14 songs and is hopeful of finding a good home for this infectious pop/reggae track, produced by Mike Shipway and Steve Smith with additional guitars by Simon Law.

7. SOMEWAY SOMEHOW - Pop

One of Iceland's most respected singer/songwriters, Johann has had hits with the bands Change, duo You And I and as a solo artist, performing around the world with 15 gold and platinum records to his credit. He was the first Icelander to get an overseas publishing deal (with Chappel) and is currently working on his sixth solo album due for release this autumn.

(Robin Song Music) This country uptempo "gets everyone up on the line dance floor," while around a dozen of Mansfield-based Simon Dawson's songs have appeared on Mike Collier's highly successful line dance compilation albums. 10. JUST ABOUT LEAVING - Country/Pop
(Paul Castle)
A member of acoustic band "Sons of Fat Harry" for the last 10 years, Paul also writes the music for Carlton's BAFTA-award winning children's TV series Old Bear Stories, now shown in 70 countries. His song "Write Him A Letter" was covered by Frances Black (via SongLink) on her Sky Road album which reached No. 2 in Ireland.
