MIEL LAUNCHES NATURE EP FOR WWF
London, November 2019: London-based songstress Miel de Botton is set to release her new EP 'I Was Given Nature' this month. The lead eponymous single has been chosen to represent a campaign by the WWF called Connect2earth. Miel's haunting and delicately beautiful vocals are featured on the Connect2earth video which tells a powerful message on how we need to urgently prioritise our planet's well-being. The lyrics provide the sound bed to a very important global initiative from the WWF.
#Connect2Earth is an open source movement started by WWF and partners to engage millions of people worldwide to spark conversations about why nature matters and take action in the face of loss of nature around them. "Miel's passion for nature and empowering youth shine through her words and music. If we want people to love, value and therefore protect nature - the very foundation of all life on Earth - we need them to connect to nature. Music touches people's hearts and the support of artists like Miel is invaluable in developing a society that recognizes nature as beautiful and inspiring as well as indispensable for our own future and the well-being of our children," said Marco Lambertini, Director General, WWF International.
Miel performed the track live in Geneva in October as part of the WWF International's Duke of Edinburgh Conservation Award Ceremony. She will also perform the track in London as well as some of her other poignant songs in front of media and leading WWF representatives in London o November 12th. The new EP, consisting of three songs, two co-written with James Sanger and one with Marc JB, has been executively produced by Andy Wright (Simply Red, Eurythmics, Pavarotti etc) and will precede the release of her second album 'Surrender To The Feeling' due to be released in February 2019.
She released her debut album 'Magnetic' in 2015 and since then has been touring world-wide, this has included some key festival performances such as Camp Bestival and Carfest. There have also been many sold out concerts in venues such as Crazy Coqs, The Pheasantry and Dean St Jazz Club plus support slots with artists such as John Barrowman and Rhydian Roberts.
Miel's generous spirit and philanthropic work continues to be a big part of her life. She has supported countless peace and community projects as well as the arts and the environment for many years. She has quietly made a significant contribution to many global campaigns and it's only now that she has chosen to focus on her music career that she has stepped more into the public eye and can publicly champion the belief that music really does have healing power.
