SING IT FOR CHRISTMAS - THE SONGLINK PLAYLIST 2020

London, November 2020: SongLink is proud to launch its first-ever Christmas Playlist on Soundcloud. SING IT FOR CHRISTMAS features around 50 Christmas songs written by SongLink members - songwriters and artists - who are all keen to showcase their seasonal offerings, especially in these difficult times of hardship for many due to Coronavirus. Every song includes contact details for the writer, artist or publisher, while many have lyrics included below these details, plus video links if the song is on YouTube or Vimeo.

The list of contributors includes some well known names, such as Joe Brown ("All I Want for Christmas is Peace"); punk legend Spizzenergi ("Christmas in Denmark Street"), mixed by Tony Visconti; and David Martin, co-writer of "Can't Smile Without You" for Barry Manilow ("All My Love for Christmas"). Others on the playlist include blues and reggae maestro Tim Hain, who's donating all profits of "All She Wants for Christmas" to Crisis for its appeal on behalf of the homeless at Christmas; and Brett Perkins & Tamra Rosanes from Denmark, whose "Corona Christmas" is about the effects of Coronavirus at this time of year.

The list also includes a special song written by longtime SongLink member Ken MacLean, based in Liverpool, and sung by Tony Coburn of the Cavern Club Beatles band, the house band at the famous venue, "Peace On Earth" was originally written with John Lennon's 80th birthday in mind, but this universal message is also being showcased to coincide with the 40th anniversary of his senseless murder, December 8th, just three weeks before Christmas.
