NEW YORK / BERLIN, 21 March 2012 - BMG Chrysalis US announced today that it has signed an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with Bruno Mars. The multi-talented singer/songwriter/producer/musician's debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans has earned 36 Platinum certifications worldwide. Mars' first solo single "Just the Way You Are," hit number 1 in multiple countries across the world and won the critically-acclaimed artist a Grammy Award for "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance." Doo-Wops & Hooligans has claimed two additional hit singles "Grenade" and "The Lazy Song." Mars is a 13-time Grammy Award nominee and has now sold over 36 million singles worldwide.

In addition to the songs he has authored and recorded himself, Mars has become a prodigious source of hits for some of the most sought-after acts in music today. As a member of the songwriting and production team The Smeezingtons (Mars, Ari Levine, Phil Lawrence), he has co-written and/or produced several multi-platinum singles including B.o.B's "Nothin' on You," Flo Rida's "Right Round," Travie McCoy's "Billionaire" and Cee Lo Green's Grammy-nominated "Fuck You." Most recently, Mars scored his 11th top 10 single on the Billboard "Hot 100" with the single "It Will Rain" from the blockbuster film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. Also in 2012, Bruno took home the Brit Award for Best International Male Solo Artist.

BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch said, "We are thrilled that Bruno Mars - one of contemporary music's most creative and prolific songwriters - has joined the BMG roster. His decision to sign to with us reflects our commitment to make BMG a home for the best music talent in the world."

"In such a short time, Bruno Mars has created a tremendous footprint in the musical world. Whether he's writing for himself or others, he creates magic and there is simply no limit to where his talent can take him," added Richard Blackstone, Executive Vice-President, BMG North America.
