SONGLINK TEAMS WITH FAIRWOOD MUSIC IN NEW WRITER CAMP
Fairwood Music Group, in association with SongLink and exclusive sponsor SESAC, have announced the 'Breakthrough Sessions' - a new writer camp concept initiated by Fairwood and designed specifically for exciting, newly published writers who crucially are yet to have their first major cut. Also participating with Fairwood in this inaugural four-day event at north London's prestigious Tileyard studio complex will be Good Groove, Notting Hill Music, Touch Tones Music and Tileyard Music, as well as SongLink and A&R Worldwide.
Fairwood Music's A&R Consultant, Ross Gautreau said, "Most writing camps cater for already established writers who have a track record of writing hits. We've set up the 'Breakthrough Sessions' because we wanted to offer something for new, upcoming talent who are yet to have their first cut and assist them in achieving their first major placement."
SongLink editor David Stark said, "I'm delighted to be associated with this exciting new initiative for new writers by Fairwood Music, and am sure the debut Breakthrough Sessions will produce some high quality songs with hit potential."
Good Groove's MD, Gary Davies commented, "Normally someone wouldn't qualify to take part in a writing camp until they have become an established writer, or artist. As well as working with some big names at Good Groove, we also have an exciting roster of emerging talent for whom the 'Breakthrough Sessions' could play an important part in their development. This is such a great idea when we heard about it we knew we had to be involved."
Tileyard Music's Charlie Arme said, "Tileyard's ethos is to be supportive of new talent, bringing them global success and this camp embodies everything that we are about. We are very excited to be working in conjunction with Fairwood to help bring this unique concept to fruition. We firmly believe that it will be the first of many to come."
