INDIE INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCE LATEST WINNERS
Seattle, WA. USA - The judges for the fifth Indie International Songwriting Contest have announced their winners! The five first place songwriters will be awarded as follows: Tracy Newman (Los Angeles, CA) - Folk, Mike Lewis (Scranton, PA) - Americana/Country, Joelle Maddyson (Nashville, TN) - Pop, Malte Vief (Leipzig, Germany) - Instrumental and The Windy City: Culthane, Correia & Correia (Cape Town, South Africa) - Rock. Hit Songwriter and this years' Pop judge Alex Forbes said "Excellent songs this year! What a pleasure, and an inspiration for my own writing!" Hit Songwriter and Country judge Alissa Moreno also commented "Judging was so challenging because the art was pure and honest!"

Entries were received from over 50 different countries. Prizes will be awarded to the top 25 songwriters, 5 in each genre category. Indie International will be awarding over $21,000 value in useful products and services, selected to help indie artists move forward in their careers. All first place genre winners receive over $1,900 value in prizes, as well as a front page feature on the Indie International website for the duration of the current contest.

Indie International is the first full-disclosure songwriting contest of its kind. Every contestant receives his/her score and the name of their judge at contest end. Entries are limited to just the first 150 songs per genre submitted for each contest period. In its efforts to be entirely green-friendly, the entry and judging procedures and its prize distribution are all executed completely online. Entrants enter anonymously through the site via MP3's. No mailed entries are accepted and scoring by judges is also paperless. Indie International also participates annually in The Nature Conservancy's "adopt an acre" program in the names of the five first-place winners.
